When we were deciding on a name for our rural house, we chose a tree, one that literally crowns the garden of Villa I. The Liqudámbar is a delicate tree with flashy green colors in summer and romantic and yellowish purple colors in autumn.
Aside from our emblematic Liquidámbar, the Villa I garden also has a majestic laurel tree. Its leaves provide a magical touch to any stew. During the winter months it is also most symbolic as a Christmas holly bush. More than 30 m2 are also available for a famous “Camerana” barbeque (of course grilling local Cameros mountain products), or for taking in a summer “siesta”. A great spot for playing with the children. Also, the perfect setting for candlelight dinners, or merely embracing the surrounding tranquility while listening to the humming from the Canal del Moro Channel, which is tucked in the northern part of the garden.
At both the entrance and exit of the Villa I garden, depending on how you view it, there is a wonderful public playground where the little ones can play as pirates, superheroes or veterinarians without borderss.

The 30 m2 garden in our first apartment, “Sonido”, has a distinct stone arch under which many lucky couples have declared “yes I do”. A lime tree perfumes all corners of the green garden in springtime. A large blackboard perched on a stand allows any child staying here, the freedom to scribble on it. This is truly a special spot at Villa Liquidámbar complex.
The private grill in the garden of the “Sonido” Accessible Apartment, a luxury in any tourist accommodation, is available for the enjoyment of your family or friends. Enjoy a traditional barbeque, grilling local products, while playing with the children or simply watch the water flow northbound past the Canal del Moro Channel. Eastward, the green area borders the ruins of the Molino del Moro Mill. And to the northeast, we can see the community gardens of the Rivera del Iregua Park.
As is the accessible Sound apartment, the garden is also adapted for wheelchairs and people with reduced visibility.
Independence, intimacy and exclusivity, only for our guests at this fully equipped apartment with garden furniture for 2-4 people.
The third apartment has a whimsical garden on the eastern corner of the Molino del Moro mill ruins. Here the fragrance of lavender and rosemary stimulate both the days and nights throughout most of the year. Equipped with garden furniture, common to all of our green spaces, guests of the Accessible Apartments Luz will enjoy their own, 120m2 private garden, ideal for a well-deserved rest after a full day hiking or for gazing at the attractive views that this land offers. Experience a great Rioja barbeque, or simply unwind by chatting with your friends or family.

Article nº 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, states the following: “State parties recognize the right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts”.
Thus, ALL children, regardless of their physical or intellectual capacity, have the right to play. This also applies to adolescents as well as adults, elderly people, and folks with any disability.
For these reasons we have aimed to promote the natural setting in all garden areas by making them inclusive for everyone. The Ribera del Iregua Park, a common area in our tourist complex, is available without exception for everyone’s enjoyment.
La Rosa de los Vientos Park is also a noteworthy location, as is of course our own Ribera del Iregua Park.
From the north corner, take in spectacular views of the Iregua River, where one can practice fishing during the spring and summer months. River life permeates our village, Torrecilla en Cameros. Our local Iregua River flows into the mighty Ebro River.
To the west lie the Molino del Moro ruins, where you will find the enticing Poza de la Rana natural pools.
In the center of this green park, at the Hermandad de las Siete Villas, there is an enormous stone table. Originally a press at the Molino del Moro Mill, today our guests use it as a magnificent gathering place.
To the south visit the restored ruins of the Molino del Moro Mill. Up until the 60s this mill was one of the main economic and social centers of the town and Cameros Nuevos district’s most popular gathering spot.
Other outstanding features of this green area are the large ash trees and centenary alder trees that line the banks of the Iregua River, along with the ancient poplar tree that has been converted into an eye-catching trunk-sculpture. Poplars sprung up here for over decades.
Up until the 60s, the Molino del Moro Mill was one the most prosperous business areas of the Cameros Nuevos distict. For centuries this mill produced flour, the town’s main staple of food. The mill was also an important social meeting point, where women, especially on weekends, would set up Sunday barbeques or bake traditional cakes and sweets for the local “fiestas”.
We have converted the four solid stone walls of this historical location, into a multi-purpose venue for recreational activities, celebrations, a meeting place for businesses and WEDDINGS.
Imagine, getting married in an ancient flour mill, as water flows below this historic foundation. Stroll through the centennial stone arch passage, to the tune of “tan tan ta nan…”, arm in arm with the person you love most…
There you have it, we’ve reclaimed the “tosca” stone arch that crowns the main gate of the building. We also recovered two grindstones, a constant reminder of one of humanity’s oldest professions.
We later created two lookout areas, one to contemplate the flow of the water moved by the mill’s wheels and another where one can observe the intricate cellars of the mill.
The possibilities of the events area are numerous. Over 1200 m2 of land snuggled on the river’s bank, surrounding the Ribera del Iregua Park, provide the ideal setting for any gathering. If you are talking about a wedding, even more so! Photographs and memories to treasure forever of your most special day.
Ideal green spaces for our guest’s enjoyment, for any special celebration, from an unforgettable gastronomic experience, a company meeting or a wedding, always with our special signature flair.
