The Village

The welcoming town of Torrecilla, is the largest village in the Sierra de Cameros mountains, crossed by the Iregua River. Enjoy recreational and cultural activities yearround.
Torrecilla has numerous restaurants, bars, ATMs, butcher and grocery shops, an outpatient clinic, a pharmacy, a municipal pool, a fronton court and a natural stormwater pond.

Surroundings and settings

This mountainous setting is ideal for practicing hiking, mountain biking, caving, fishing, mushroom gathering, as we call it here, or bird watching.

Located in the center of La Rioja province, it’s easy to organize wine tours, historical and cultural visits, without having your kids demanding every five minutes, “are we there yet?”.

What to see
in Torrecilla en Cameros and surroundings

  • The Roman road of the Iregua River,  a simple hike that allows one to go back in time.
  • Peña Seto; spectacular views from the summit of this rocky crag that crowns our house. Great hike for kids or in a group. Fly above.
  • Natural Stormwater pond, just 2 km walk from the town.
  • Hike to Ribavellosa, a charming hamlet and environmental issues interpretation center.
  • Ortigosa Caves. Just 15 minutes from our house. These are the only caves in La Rioja that are open for tourist visits. 350 m2 of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites and other limestone formations. Guided tours that last approximately one hour.
  • Sierra de Cebollera Natural Park, with its waterfalls, beech and pine forests, deer and wild boar. Nature in it’s purest form.
  • Tapas along Calle Laurel, Logroño’s most famous streel. La Rioja’s capital is just 20 km from Villa Liquidámbar.
  • Route of the Castillian Language: within just an hour, explore the cradle of the Spanish language at the San Millán de la Cogolla Monasteries, Heritage of Humanity.
  • Parque Aventura Theme Park; a wonderful adventure and nature theme park for kids and those who are forever young”.
  • Club Náutico El Rasillo - sailing club.  Surrounded by an extensive pine forest and set 1000 m high in the valley of the Iregua River. This artificial lake is a privileged setting for numerous water sports, such as swimming, a water slide, canoeing, pedal boats… perfect for the whole family. The club also has a bar and restaurant and plenty of tables outside for picnics.
